DVD Burner For Laptop

Yes to remove/install ( in fact, I put a "Dell" branded DVD+R/W burner in my
laptop ). As to reliability, possibly actually more than desktop burners -
as long as you don't use your laptop as a doorstop/dustpan...

My +r/w burner was bought off of eBay, and as I said was originally made for
Inspirons etc... ( the Gotcha? Price, but I considered $200 worth it for
an internal burner for my laptop. You can get some burners for less, but I
have seen nothing comperable in the +r/w camp and I prefer it to the -r/w -
soon it likely won't matter, but right now minimum burn speed on -r/w is 1x
and +r/w is 2.4x ).

Could you explain why the format won't matter soon? I am still learning
