Hi,

Anyone know of a DVD reader that can read all formats, or at least +R/RW
and -R/RW (not too worried about DVD-RAM at the moment).
The Sony DDU-1622 looks good *but* it lists +RW, -R and -RW; does this mean
that a DVD+RW reader does not necessarily do +R as well?

Also it has to have a black bezel which rules out the all-format burners I
can find (like the LG)

TIA

Pete

<http://www.directron.com> has black bezels for LG DVD burners. Fits the
all-format LG just fine, although it has an opening for a volume control
that's not used and the window for the LED doesn't line up. Figured I'd
risk the price of the bezel and try it and it is working fine. One of
these days I ought to put in a window (drill hole, glue in a little piece
of plexiglass cut off a rod) for the LED but so far I haven't missed it
enough to push me to make the effort.

I don't have the exact link offhand--you may have to poke around Directron
for a while before you find the bezels, but they _are_ there.

Remember to test the burner before you swap the bezel--I suspect that
changing it voids the warranty.

That's just the job, thanks! I spent about 2 hours searching yesterday and
didn't come up with anything. The search engines for the (UK) stores I use
don't find it even though they stock it!!!

Much appreciated
