Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware>pc-homebuilt (more info?)

I have a Sony DVD burner that works on one machine but does not work
in another.
I have brand new Oblivion CD and when I put the DVD in one machine it
will install.
When I take the drive out and put it in the other machine nothing
happens. XP reports the drive, but the directory is blank and it will
not autostart.

I am pretty sure it reported new hardware found the first time I tried
using it but no message comes up any more on either machine. I assume
because XP already has it on the hardware list.

Suggestions on what I can do to get it to work in the other machine?
The bad machine is a 2G Intel.

Thanks for you time
