Sudden onset of no response, no power up, no fan.
After using my ss51G for 2 years, it went completely dead when
pressing power up button. I do have a Shuttle card reader in it and
the green LED is lit, so some power is getting to the MB, but no power
up occuring. Would you suspect a dead power supply? Are there any
fuses in there? Thanks for your thoughts.

assuming you have tried different mains leads/sockets etc, pretty safe bet
it's a psu

if all the lines arent ready, she won't come up but you still have some low
power control stuff that isn't subject to that shema

the psus are pretty much self contained - be warned, if you take it apart
there are some very nasty DC voltages sat on capacitors etc for some time
after it's been out of use - failing of switched mode - they hurt.

My ss51g crapped out on me a few months ago as well. Actually,
to be more specific, it works but has a very strange problem. When
I hit the power button nothing happens for about 5-10 minutes, then it
will come on. When it's on it works perfectly and I can do anything
I want with no problem. It will do the same thing the next time I
power it on. But, If I do a "restart" and then just turn it off when
it starts to post it will come on immediately the next time I hit the
power button. I know the problem is with the motherboard because
I've swapped out all the other components with know good ones and it
does the some exact thing. I'm assuming it's some capacitor or
resistor or something but I'm not knowledgeable enough about that kind
of stuff to track it down and there are no signs of physical
abnormalities. It's not "shorting" on the case either because I've
had it out and it's the same old thing. I guess I can buy a new board
from shuttle for about $100 but I'd like to know exactly what's wrong
with the one I have.

Bottom line - it's possible you have the same problem as me, if you've
already isolated all the components in the box then try hitting the
power a few times and just let it sit for awhile and see what happens.

I had same problem. What is it with Shuttle that they won't sell replacement
boards?

They sell them....

Or Newegg has the whole package for a bit more....
