Post subject: Device Manager showing two Primary and two Secondary IDE channels??
Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware>pc-homebuilt (more info?)

While I was fishing around trying to figure out why my hard drives
seem slow, I saw that in my Device Manager there are two primary IDE
channels and two secondary IDE channels showing up. One of the primary
channels shows the mode as being ultra DMA 5, I presume this is the
'real' one. The other primary says the current transfer mode in n/a.
Can I delete these channels? Would this cause a slow down of any kind?
Thanks.

Does your motherboard have PATA and SATA? If so, that's your answer!
