Just got myself an Aopen AX4SPE MAX II, and it's the first time I've
ever had to dabble with 'dual channel' memory.
The board has four dimm slots in two pairs, each pair consisting of a
dark blue and a light blue slot, labeled A1, A2 and B1,B2
respectively.
As I understand it, dual channel means that a matched pair ( size,
speed etc ) should be placed in first the A1 slot, then the B1 slot in
order for the process to function?
As yet I don't have a matched pair, just two sticks of DDR of
differing speeds and size.
I assume that the system defaults to 'single channel' mode - but do I
place one stick in the A1 slot and the other in the B1 slot...or
simply bung 'em both in the A slots?
I assume too that putting a further single stick of memory in when A1
and B1 are matched would result in single channel mode again?
The manual doesn't seem at all clear on this.
Cheers,
