Hi,
I bought an ECS 755-A2 mainboard, mounted an AMD Sempron 3100
socket 754, a Sapphire Radeon 9600Pro graphic card and 1Ghz RAM.
When I try to switch on the PC nothing happens, nothing at all! The
only thing that starts spinning is the CPU fan. The motherboard does
not even beep. Has any of you an idea of what can cause such a
behaviour?
I am not even able to access the BIOS: nothing appears on the monitor.
I tried changing the graphic card and the RAM, but it's the same. I
even tried a second mainboard (same model). The only thing I did
not change was the AMD Sempron. Could all this be caused by a
defective CPU?
Thanks for your feedback...

My brand new 755-A2 is doing the exact same thing Mad . I checked my
PS output and all the voltages are good. The power light wasn't
coming on though. Then I plugged in the ATX2 power connector and now
my power light comes on but no response what so ever from the
motherboard. Where did you buy yours? I'm ready to take mine back to
Fry's. I sent ECS an email we'll see what kind of response I get.

Did you try a BIOS reset? Either do whatever the manual says to do, or
remove the power and the battery for several minutes to empty CMOS.

I went to return the motherboard to Fry's and also brought my CPU.
When they tested it at the counter it worked Shocked ! So I thought
my memory might be bad. I've tried it in several PC's and it works
fine. So a friend suggested trying another video card. I was using a
PCI card and found an AGP card, still no POST. I got desperate and
bought a brand new video card and some Kingston memory, still no
results. I can only imagine it being my power supply. All the
voltages check out OK except +5VSB which read about 4.73 volts. So my
next trip to the store is for a PS.

Well after all is said and done the power supply was the culprit. I
bought a new power supply and now the motherboard boots up Very Happy . Be
sure to check that +5VSB voltage. Mine was low and that seems to be
one of the more important voltages for ATX type motherboards.
