My EP-8KTA3PRO is described as 200/266 FSB. How do I determine if what I
have is the one or the other, or potentially both? The manual's features
section gives processor as Athlon, operating at 600 - ~1.3 GHz. However,
the Epox recommended proc. list indicates that the board at 266 MHz can use
an Athlon XP 2000, at 266 FSB, operating at
1.67GHz. So, would upgrading to the latter proc. be prohibitive, obviously
dangerous, or what? TIA for your comments.

The manual will have been printed when the fastest Athlon was a 1.3GHz chip.
As more chips came out the website would have been updated to show what is
compatible. I have seen the same think with my 8K3A

I think you will have no trouble using an XP2000 in your board.

Many thanks, Dave. I forgot to enter in my previous post that the manual's
date is 6/15/01. Appreciate your insight. I'll go ahead with upgrade.

The board can handle both 100 (200) and 133 (266) processors. Exact
CPUs are listed in the CPU support document.

The final CPU support list is available here:
