I am not sure if this is a motherboard-bios issue or software
hopefully somebody can help.
When I boot for the first time of the day or if it has been more than
30 min since I shut down the PC when I turn on the PC it goes through
the memory check, hard drive detection and so on but when it gets to
Verifying DMI pool data then there is a long pause then this message
shows up "error loading operating system" I will have to reboot three
times before win xp home looks like it is going to start but hangs at
the xp logo, so then on the next reboot I get the winxp was not shut
down properly and asks if I want to boot in safe mode, with network
support or to boot normally, I select boot normally and then win xp
loads and everything is fine as long as I don't leave the PC off for
more than 30 min and try to turn it back on or I have to repeat the
above procedure.
I have tried to boot with the westell disconnected from the PC and
disabled the onboard LAN thinking it was an ip search issue with
zoomtown but that didn't help. I have not made any new hardware
changes before these problems started other than added a external usb
floppy drive because the onboard floppy controller quit working after
the 90 day warranty ran out on the board, I continued to use this
board with the bad floppy controller for a couple of months before the
boot problems started. Also about every 7 boots the bios does not
detect any drives but then I reboot and it sees them.
My system is a barebones I built in November and haven't had any
problems until this one.
My system is made up of the following:

Case: Thermaltake

could so that someone may be able to help me.

Thanks
Tim

The cheapest and first thing I would try: Change the CMOS battery. It is a
coin like battery on your motherboard.
