Having had emails from one or two of you about the Gigabyte 1394 bracket I
have for sale, I need to clarify the following.

This bracket is a three way device, terminating in the grey connectors which
have pin 10 blocked. It appears that some newer Gigabyte boards may use a
different pin arrangement (purple connector?).

If anyone does want the version of the rear bracket that I have, let me know
and I will email you a picture for confirmation and we can discuss the
details of getting it to you!

Sorry for any confusion caused before.

There is a 10 pin purple block connector as well as an 18 pin header for
the 1394 ports on the newer mobos. Your PCI slot L-bracket should work
with on the 10 pin connector, although it may require a reordering of
the pin connections.

I just checked the pdf for that mobo. The 1394 bracket you have is of
the 1394"A" variety (aka: firewire 400), and is not pin for pin
compatible with the 1394"B" (firewire 800) header on the newer mobos.

In addition to the lower bandwidth, 1394A gets terminated to a 6 pin
connector, whereas firewire 800 is terminated to a 9 pin connector.

The 1394b cable assembly/L-bracket is available from Gigabyte's US
facility ($18US):
