Flashing BIOS on new motherboard

I am going to be building a new system for a friend in a week or so
here, I am wondering if flashing the BIOS is a must do thing, or if its
not that big of a deal and is only neaded to be done when there is
something that is not working correctly. I don't want to kill the MB
if necessary on accident.

Update if you need it. Read the revision history fix list and see if
you are affected too. If you buy from a dealer with fairly good
turnaround, you probably will receive a brand new motherboard. My bios
date was 1 month old. (ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe)
