I am currently using a G400 which does not have a brightness or
contrast control in the driver (and probably not on the card). I use
the gamma adjustment for brightness but it give unsatisfactory
results on an LCD flat panel when viewing photos.

Does the G450 or G550 have brightness and contrast adjustments in
the driver?
Thanks!

Well, it has a gamma adjuster....and I use the same driver for the 400
and the 450.

You could try looking for Gapa.zip ( 108Kb ) - a freeware gamma
adjuster, might give you more options..

Thank you Stephen - The Gamma Panel program is a real find! Saves me
from buying another video card.
By the way, I see from your website that you refurb clarinets? Wish
you were in
Florida!

It's a nifty little program...and it's particularly good on ancient
laptops where the screens tend to be rather dull.

If you're looking for someone to repair your clarinet Stateside, try a
post in alt.music.clarinet - bound to be someone there who can suggest
some names...
