Hi,
I got a new case the other day. Instead of having a 3 slot plug for
the Power LED it has two single slot plugs. Of course the board is
designed for 3 (as all of the other ones I've ever seen have), so I
have an open pin. The board will not power up, and I suspect this is
the problem. Can anyone offer any insight or help?
Thanks,
P.

Are you sure you don't have the power LED and power switch connectors
backwards? The power LED would have nothing to do with your board not
powering on.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

No mix up there. Oddly enough, the board powered up last night, but only for
about 30 seconds. It now will not start again. Perhaps a defective power
supply? Any more suggestions?

Possibly. Connect a multimeter to the leads and see what you get.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
