Have you loaded the chipset drivers from the Motherboard CD?
Loaded all the other required drivers from the CD too?
Have you installed the latest XP drivers for the sound and Video cards?
I have found that when building a new PC, Standby and Hibernate will not be
available until all devices have the appropriate XP drivers loaded.
Also, XP will disable Standby and Hibernate if it detects a driver that
doesn't support it.
