i'm about to buy myself some new computer parts, but i'm a bit unsure which
memory i should get. the mainboard is going to be a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP with
an intel p4 2,4 ghz cpu. since the board supports dual channel ram, i
thought two ddr400 ram bars would be good, but to be honest i dont really
know what the 400 behind the ddr stands for Smile i this the right memory for
my mainboard/cpu combination? or is a different type faster?

If you intend to overclock you should get some 3500 or 3700 which is 434 and
450.
I used some Kingston HYPER X 3500 in mine and overclocked it to 225 FSB
which is 450 on the ram with the multiplier set to 2.0. DOUG
