I'm trying to find out if the Gigabyte 8S648FX (SiS chipset) can
support memory grater than 400 Mhz.
My previous motherboard was an ASUS A7V-266E and I was able to use 333
Mhz memory when the specs said it could only handle 266 (from memory)
and it ran fantastic.

I currently have the GA-8S648FX-775 (which doesn't support AGP Fast
Write) with an ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128Mb video card and want to boost
the performance.

Any ideas, other than to buy a new system.

*Available with 3 DIMM slots supporting up to 3GB of DDR266/DDR333 or 2 DIMM
supporting up to 2GB of DDR400 memory

Hope this helps

Thanks for that, I was hoping to go forth and use 533 MHz or 667MHz
but looks like a no-goer.
Don't think I'm going to have any luck considering I want to have 2GB
of RAM.
