GA-G33M-DS2R doesn't detect SATA drive

Recommendations on Gigabyte's GA-G33M-DS2R - I plan to upgrade my system with either or Asus P5K-VM to be coupled with an E6550 and DDR2 1066 Ram (Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz E.P.P. Memory - OR - Crucial Ballistix Dual Channel 2048MB PC8500 DDR2..

Monitor won't stay in standby mode GA-G33M-DS2R - with SATA HD, E6750 CPU, on-board graphics, running XP Pro SP2 + latest updates. After setting the monitor to 'power off' after 10 minutes, it enters it's standby mode, but always wakes up again after about 2-3 minutes. I have

Have you checked in a BIOS screen ? Things connected to
Southbridge ports, should be visible in the BIOS. And preferably
connected to one of the primary four ports, just in case.
(I.e. One of the group of four next to one another. They
are numbered as ports 0, 1, 4, 5.)

Also, if you want help with your Windows situation, you
should give some background on your current configuration. Like
whether you are currently booted from a SATA drive or are
using an IDE on some other controller etc. There are many
options for setup, and some of them have side effects.
