Today I tried out an old favourite of mine, namely the game "Deus Ex".
Running it I quickly found that the game(now some 5 years old) actually
seems to be running too fast on my current system.
My current system being:
- Mobo: MSI K8M Neo-V
- CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+
- RAM: 1,5 Gb DDR SDRAM
- Videocard: MSI nVidia NX6600-VTD128 Diamond
- Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy LS
- Maxtor 6B200P0 200 Gb HD
- Maxtor 6L080L4 80 GB HD
- 450 W Enermax PSU
Now I know there are apps like Turbo or MoSlo that can slow the CPU down,
but I haven't tried these on the AMD 64 yet, What's more, I have "Cool 'n'
Quiet" enabled which, as you may know, slows down the CPU when it's idle.
Can I run Turbo or any other app safely on my system, leaving Q&Q on, or
should I turn that off first?
All feedback is greatly appreciated. >> Stay informed about: Gaming issue |

"High Performance mode"... Is that the same as "User Mode" as displayed in
MSI CoreCenter?
Anyway, I tried turning C&C off completely - through the BIOS - and ran Deus
Ex again. And indeed, it worked normal this time. Yay! Guess what I'll be
playing next? >> Stay informed about: Gaming issue |
