Does anyone know if there is a keyboard being made comparable to the
old Gateway 124-key programmable keyboard.

All the memory for programming the keys and macros is contained in
memory built into the keyboard.

Thanks.

Waaaahoooooo,

Yeah, they seem quite proud of their product.

But, the key programming is OS based, not keyboard memory based.

Their FAQ says:

"The layout and macros programmed into the keyboard will follow with the
keyboard. Any layout changes or macros that are programmed are stored in a
PROM in the keyboard, not in the software or anywhere on your system."

It's only the utility which allows up/downloading that is OS-dependent.

I don't own one of these keyboards, but I'd consider one if I had to
replace my Northgate OminKey Plus just to get the control key in the right
place.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
