Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>videocards>ati (more info?)

I posted this before, since then Ive gotten a new PSU, but I still have the
same problem with artifacts/tears.

The card is a Cecube XTG-C3 Radeon 9600XT card running in the following
machine.

Abit KT7A-RAID w/Thorton@2110MHz and 1gb of PC133@124MHz memory + a Chill
Innovation 350Watt powersupply.

I have tried running ATITool.exe which immediately starts underclocking the
videocard and keeps going (I stopped it at 425MHz core, it also underclocks
the memory since the stock speed apparent vields lots of errors).

I am having problems with artifacts, black tears, even at the stock speed of
500MHz Core and 324MHz memory. If I increase the memory clock a few MHz it
begins to worsen quickly.. However, there little difference from lets say
340MHz to 375MHz.

Since I thought it might have been my old powersupply I bought the new 350
Watt one, I have also tried clocking the CPU down to 1400MHz@1,45v with no
effect at all.

I have tried AGP 1, 2 and 4 - Ive tried with Fast Writes on and off. Ive
uninstalled/reinstalled different version of the display drivers, making
sure old drivers have been removed.

Im thinking the card maybe defective, the memory is 2,8ns and should go to
350MHz, so that should be the problem.

Any thoughts?

Regards

Lars

Doh!

"Im thinking the card maybe defective, the memory is 2,8ns and should go to
350MHz, so that should be the problem."

I meant, it should not be the problem Smile
