For my Board:
Legend QDI, KuDoz 7 V1.XX
Award BIOS 6.00 PG from 10/15/2001,

I can find no information about the supportet harddisk size.

The manual does not show if I can use a 160GB HD.
The QDI-Website shows me several BIOS-updates, but no
update is about the size of the hard disk.

So, I have got no idea if I could use a HD of 160GB.
Is there any way to find this out or do I just have to try?

Thanks for hintz

H.

Upgrade to the newest BIOS version for your motherboard. Take care it's the
proper one for your model and revision. The BIOS will need to support 48-bit
LBA. You'll also need SP4 for Windows2000 or SP1/1a for Windows XP. If the
BIOS does not support 48-bit LBA, you can purchase a $20US PCI controller
which will see the 160GB drive.

I use WinXP with SP 1.
I can find no information if my BIOS update supports 48-Bit LBA and
160GB.
The best would be to know this *before* I buy a new HD.

Can I check this out?

I don't want to use a secondary controller because I've seen they
often cause heavy troubles at boot-time and they seem to be not very
reliable.

Thanx in advance,
