I'm trying to replace a CD ROM with a CDRW in an older IBM Netvista
computer. one of these all-in-one things *very* proprietary of course.
A standard CDRW measures 5 3/4" wide and I need about 5 1/2" width.
Any ideas on who might make something in a smaller form factor?

These proprietary cases will often only take proprietary drives.

Are you meaning a laptop type of drive rather than a standard one?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

about the dw-u10a - Hey there, i just got the drive the other day and hada few problems with it. I don't know if it was the media i was using or the drive but I decided to flash it first from the dw-u10a firmware to the dru-500a firmware, as they are the same..
