Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>video (more info?)

I have some old home movies recorded on those mini VHS cassettes and I also
have some taped shows and commercials on VHS and on my TiVo that I want to
keep so quality is the most important. I've been hearing that Dscaler has
worked wonders when getting an accurate picture quality and is comparable to
the original recording, but when using a hardware encoder such as the PVR-
250 from Hauppauge that it doesn't look as good. I was wondering what would
work best?
