I know it's a poor question, but...

I thought that I read I could choose the drive to boot from but while
going to the BIOS Setup it just didn't appear obvious.

I have three ATA drives and two SATA drives currently running Windows
XP from one of the ATA drives. I want to install Vista on one of the
SATA drives without impacting the current XP installation, ie no
Dual-Boot option!

What did I forget about where to select the boot drive? And, has
anybody had any issues booting, or installing Vista, in a ATA/SATA
configuration?

Thanks in advance

If you want to install Vista without dual boot option,
disconnect the power supply to all other HDrives.
Then install.
Reconnect.
You will be able to choose the boot drive either as
setting it as the first HD in the Bios, or by
pressing F8 at the very start of the computer.
You can then choose your boot drive - which can be
either WindowsXp or Vista.

At least that is the way it works on my A8N-SLI Premium board.

Thanks, that seems simple enough.

Thanks again.
