Post subject: Help Needed: 6AJA4/100 Vcore Adjustment
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>chaintech (more info?)

Hello everybody,

I recently bought a chaintech 6aja4/100 with the assumption that it
allows vcore adjustment. It turns out that the option does not exist
in the BIOS. I contacted chaintech's Europe support and got the
6aja4323.bin BIOS for the older 6aja4 (not the 6aja4/100). Tech
support told me that the BIOS is interchangable.

When I attempted to flash the BIOS it complained about a wrong part
number. I emailed tech support again and they gave me instruction to
basically force the flash. I did, but the motherboard died!!!

I managed to hot flash the BIOS back to the original BIOS (I have
another idetical board) but I am still without voltage adjustment
capability.

Anybody has this board and/or knows which BIOS to use, or how to get
the 6aja4323.bin BIOS to work with this board. According to tech
support, the only difference between this board and the older 6aja4 is
the south bridge; the 6aja4/100 has the 686B supporting ATA100 while
6aja4 has the 686A supporting only ATA66.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ahmad.
