Post subject: Help with monitor resolution please?
Archived from groups: comp>sys>ibm>pc>hardware>video (more info?)

Hi,
I wonder if someone could help me please.
I've just bought a NEC 1810 (18.1") TFT monitor, which has analogue and
digital input.
My machine has an ATI All in Wonder card, which supports digital output, so
I connected using the digital cable supplied with the monitor.
It was great picture quality until I set the resolution to the recommended
1280 x 1024, (to fill the screen). After which, some of the darker colours
had pixels which seemed to sparkle/twinkle in them.
I tried tweaking the settings but I couldn't seem to get rid of them.
I've now reverted to analogue, by using the adapter from my old monitor, but
would really like to get the digital side of things going.
All advice gratefully received

TIA,
Steve.

At this resolution the manual says it supports frequencies between 60 and
75, mine was set at 75, I'll give it a try at a lower frequency and let you
know. Thanks for your input.

Regards,
Steve.

Hi again Norm,

It worked!! The only setting which caused these flickering pixels was 75,
when I changed it to 60 and 70 the screen was as crisp as anyone could
want....brilliant, and thank you for your help.

Regards,
Steve.

Steve: Great!! I have a 19" Viewsonic, top of the line. I am using
60. I suspect that the 75 is a typo but I could be wrong. Enjoy!
