Ok, I know I posted a short while ago about the motherboard, but this time
i'd like people's opinions on system specs. I'm looking at a money no object
PC, i'm going to be building it from scratch as my old one isn't really
worth updating. Thing is i'm only going to be buying it a piece at a time,
so that has to be considered. I know I want to get a VIA 857P NEO-FIS2R
mobo, but what would be the best memory and stuff like that? And I know I
want a GeForce FX 5900 Ultra too. Any advice gratefully welcome,

ta.

Daz.

Exactly what motherboard do you mean? Don't you mean the MSI 875P NEO
FIS2R? And be sure not to skimp on the sound system and monitor.

Sound? How bout the Creative Audigy 2 line.
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.soundblaster.com/products/audigy2/" target="_blank">http://www.soundblaster.com/products/audigy2/</a>
And Video <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://mirror.ati.com/products/gamer.html" target="_blank">http://mirror.ati.com/products/gamer.html</a> And there's a few more
good one's out there.
I have a Radeon 9000 64Mb DDR.
My old Video Card The Ati All In Wonder 128Pro 32Mb DDr could hardly get to
30Fps @ 800x600x32Bit
And Never reached 100Fps.
This one in a simple test of the lesser power of the card hit close to 100
easy. In a mid test, as much as 387Fps
And complex test never below 215Fps and up to 253Fps.
Denny.

You, seriously, need to learn how to quote.

Anyway, if FPS is all one cares about, go for the FX line. Otherwise,
ATI. FSAA-wise, they are blowing the socks off of the nVidia cards.
