Thanks Richard.
I tried reinstalling the OS with SP1 and a slipstreamed version of SP2
several times with different Bios settings. I tried the drivers in
windows and the latest ones from Intel and of course the ones on the
supplied board software. They all could find the NIC but they all
said there was a problem and the device would not start. What I noted
as odd was when the OS installed it found 2 firewire adapters. I
tried a reload of the OS with the firewire off in the Bios and it
still found one Firewire. Finally had firewire off and the NIC off
and the OS still found a firewire adapter, even setup a lan for it.
In the end I gave up and got a RMA from NewEgg. I submitted it by
E-Mail and got a response with an RMA number in under an hour. aybe
faster, did not check my E-Mail.
