The last time I tried to install a new CD RW in a computer, I just
didn't know enough about under-the-hood stuff and messed up IDE cables.

Now someone without a rewriter has asked me to install a $19.99
internal drive from Office Max into their Dell from 2000, running
Windows 2000 or ME (not sure). Is there anything I should know before
attempting it? If the writer box says it'll work in ME or 2000,
generally, will it? I forget all the speeds, but I remember seeing
"52" on the box when I was at the store.

Thanks.
