Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard (more info?)

Hi all,

I had a Jetway V400ADB which had to be returned to Jetway as it had a faulty
BIOS. I took it back to the shop and they returned it on my behalf. I have
just received a replacement board which is the V6DP. I think this is a much
lower spec board and I think I've been conned by the shop.
Can anyone tell me the differences between the 2 boards and, if possible the
price difference.
Thanks
Sam

Well, I would say so. The V400ADB is a KT400A chipset full atx board. The
V6DP is a micro ATX board with the KN266 chipset with onboard video.

You can find the difference here.

Cost diference isn't much, but the big difference is the FSB and
ram bus speeds. The KM266 is limted to 133MHz, The KT400A is 166MHz, and
you'll need that for newer cpu's.
