I know that you can't have Dolby Digital or EAX with this board, but
how do you set up for 6 channel sound? After all, the ALC650 is
capable of 6 channels, and the manual has 6 channel capability listed
(separately from the MCPT-2 stuff), yet I cannot seem to get 6 (or
even 4) channel output. I have checked the appropriate boxes in the
advanced volume control section to get the outputs going through the
input channels on the motherboard but I still don't get anything more
than the front two channels. I've also played around with the amount
of speakers in the multimedia icon in the setup folder. Am I missing
something here?

Maybe while the ALC650 is capable of 6 channels, the "out-thru-the-in"
feature is still only reserved for MCPT-2 (If that were the case,
though, why the heck does it show up inmy volume control then?).
Maybe I have to have the extra bracket for the extra channels?

If you could shed some light on this subject, I'd surely appreciate
it.

Update:

There are indeed instructions within the manual that show you how to
set up for more than 2 speakers. I tried it but it still deosn't
work. I know that my speakers are actually working because I tested
all of them individually.

Try with the latest Realtek drivers for that chip(download from Realtek
site).I have the same MBO, and also had the same problem with the
sound.These drivers resolved it!
