I just finished piecing together the following system:

MSI K7N2-L mainboard
AthlonXP 2400+
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
512MB of PC2700 Samsung

Everything seems to run fine until I start a D3D or OpenGL based game, at
which point the game either freezes or kicks me out to the desktop.
Sometimes I can play for 10-15 minutes before it happens. I've read there
are problems with this board and ATI cards that a certain bios revision
seems to get around. Can anyone tell me which revision I should be using of
the bios to fix the problem? It's very annoying. Also, the problem seems
to be more prominent if I run at resolutions above 1280x1024.

Thanks for any help!

Hi, I have the K7N2G-LISR and the only fix to get my video to come on at
boot is to have the 1.2v bios installed. Anyother is a complete no go. Im
not sure if you have the same board as me or the version without on board
vga, you can get the earliest bios from MSI for your board and try that and
see if its stable after,
I know MSI are supposed to be working on a fix for the radeon issues but
when they will release a bios to fix this I dont know.
Apart from the bios revisions issue my system is stable as I could wish it
to be.

Cheers

Mate, I had the same problem and it seriously was doing my nut in,
but now Ive sorted it. All you have to do is to increase the AGP
VOLTAGE TO 1.7 thats it!!! Jobs a good un, do this in the bios.

Cheers,

I have about the same setup. With 3.4 and 3.5 bioses the system would
sometimes fail to initialize the videocard at startup/reboot.

I flashed back to 3.3 and it boots fine now.
