Soyo K7VEMPRO & Athlon CPU

Post subject: Soyo K7VEMPRO & Athlon CPU
Archived from groups: alt>comp>periphs>mainboard>soyo (more info?)

Soyo werbsite says this board can run an Athlon 1800 Palomino core.

So I took out the Duron 850 Mhz that was running OK in there, set the
FSB jumper to 266 MHz and watched it heat up and not boot. As far as I
can see, nothing in BIOS to change as far as CPU. Firmware rev is
2CA5, I believe. Thoughts ?
