i have seen this posted by someone before
vcc 0 0 gnd
..oc 0 0 data 1+
data o 0 0 data 1-

Since no one else responded and I am not familar with that MB, I can only
suggest that you go online and dl the latest manual for it.
Hopefully Shep or others can help you more.
Are the USB ports enabled in the BIOS?

Hi M8
I have the manual and i have d/l the online manual which is the same. it
doesnt show anything about what wires go where all it says is well this is
the usb port 3 and 4 and thats it.
I have the usb ports (both of them) enabled in the bios too well there both
on auto. and theres a wake up jumper 6 which i have tried on both settings.
I have installed front usb ports before no problem but this one is doing my
head in.
thanks anyway

For what it's worth a friend of mine and I were going through exactly this
issue last night on his k7vza. Here's what we discovered.
If you look at the pins for the usb2 you must find pin 1 which you have
already done. Through trial and error we found that we must enumerate the
remaining pins in a "straight down the row" fashion. At the top of the bunch
with pin 1 being on the left, we found that pin 6 was just to the right of
it. So in other words pin 1 and pin 6 are directly across from one another.
2 and 7 are across and so on down the line. If you count the pins 1 through
5 on one side and 6 through 10 on the other you would be wrong.
HTH

Hi Bob,
is that true, that pin 1 is on top of the left row?
This is pin 10 in the picture as shown in <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.ecsusa.com/support/p_k7vza.html" target="_blank">http://www.ecsusa.com/support/p_k7vza.html</a>

A great big "DUMBASS" goes to me on flubbing that one Klaus. Great catch. I
must have written that when I still had my head halfway up my ass. You are
exactly right with pin 1 and 6 being on the "bottom" of that bunch if we
believe the picture to be correct. My colorblindness to red when blended
with green doesn't help much either with that picture. It also looks like we
would exchange port enumerations if it was done my way but at least not
cause any destruction.
In any case I appreciate you pointing out my error in a kind way. Thanks!

Hi Bob,
I just realized that it makes no difference if pin 1 & 6 are on top or on bottom of the two rows, because it's a symetrical system.
The only thing which is changed is the that USB 1 is on left side instead of being on the right side!
But nevertheless I tried every possible pin combinations without success. My front USB ports are still dead!
Regards,
Klaus
