New assembly, XP2200, 256MB Generic ram
using all onboard devices (no expansion cards)

I have cleared the cmos on this thing, checked and rechecked mounting, tried
bench running it as well. checked and rechecked cpu mounting. When I power
it up all fans start but no post or anything out of it. Does anybody have
any ideas?

I was just like you, but I found my problem, and since then this board
was been stable. It's the power supply. Do you have a P4 12v (the
one with 4 pins) wire coming from the power supply going into the
motherboard by the CPU?? Not the 20 pin power supply, but the
additional power input header. I just went and bought myself a P4 12v
ATX power cord converter and it worked perfectly, for around $7 - $9.
It saved me from having to get a new power supply.

Its very strange, everyone keeps talking about the same problem on the
KM4M, yet the only fix so far as I gather here is to CHANGE THE POWER
SUPPLY UNIT. The PSU works fine with other mother boards/CPU, but not
with the MSI KM4M.

I am going out to get a new PSU now, will let you know if it really is
the PSU or was this just a guess. My PSU is fairly new, less then 2
years old. I have 2 spare PSU with the P4 4-pin jack mentioned here,
both did not manage to give me any video, but CPU fan were spinning
away and there were no beeps.
