KN1 Extreme SATA question

Hey all,
I am about to make my final decision and go for the KN1. I was hoping to
find out more about the sata for making a simple harddrive connection. I
downloaded the MB manual and the raid manual but couldn't find out anything
about this type of set up. I currently have a K7N2 Delta with 2 80GB sata
drives, and to make the sata drives work without being multidrive raid I had
to set them up as single disk arrays in the raid setup. Also with this board
there is no drive activity light for the sata, only the IDE.

My plan would be to have my 2 sata drives as C & D without the raid setup
and be able to see hard drive activity on the drive light. In the future
when I replace my DVD-RW I would consider a sata drive if this would work
also.

i dont think it does use hdd light on sata i have a kn1 extreme mobo but i cant find out as i have 2 ide harddrives and the case i have one has 2 lights at the front of the case that plug directly into the psu.
but i can say it is a very good and stable mother board much better than the elitegroup ones i have has in the past
