I have one of the newer KT2 Combo boards that is driving me nuts. Did a
clean install of XP Pro SP1, loaded all latest drivers off MSI and
things seemed to be ok. But then I noticed the network connection icon
(near the clock) pops up a connection obtained bubble coming on and off
every time I access the network. It rarely pops up if I'm not accessing
a network drive. Generally speaking this seems to not effect most
network communication. But a few programs seem to lock up when
accessing a network drive. I at first thought it was a bad network
cable but it happens with any cable. Other computers plugged into the
same hub do not have any problems. Any ideas?

No that it helps, but I've got the kt2 combo-L and I tried setting up a peer
to peer network between machines. In the end I gave up and went back to my
USB network job.

I work as a sys admin and have never had so much trouble getting a NIC to
work properly. My advice - go and buy a dedicated NIC!
