What is Post Code 2.0. on AI7? - I notice that when I boot into Win98SE, the post code LEDs stay at FF, but when I boot into WinXP Pro it drops from FF to 20, which of course is not in the AI7 manual. What is this code, and should I be worrying about it?

AI7 post code AF - Just installed the AI7 with ATI9200 based 8X AGP. From a cold start, it boots just fine and appears to run for at least a couple hours. Restart works fine also, I can reboot that way all I want. But, If I power down, the system will not..

AN7 - POST code AF ? - I'm unable to get my newly installed AN7 board to POST. The visible hex post code readout when the failure occurs is which not listed in the in the appendix of the owners manual. Does anyone know what this means ? I'm using an Enermax 350W power..

AN7 post code AF - I bought the AN7 card yesterday from my reseller. It assures me to have tested it with both an 2800+ and an 3200+ AMD. I assembled the MB with my 2400+ processor and it does not start. Tryed to remove any but it stop every time with long beeps..

AN7 POST code 0A - My POST code display shows 0A all the time. It goes through the normal boot sequence but after the machine has booted it still shows 0A. This does not seem normal to me. I would expect it to show FF as my last did (an epox), as..

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has any ideas about this.

I'm trying to get this board to work but it won't get past a code 52 on the
motherboard display. I believe this is some sort of memory problem. The
board lights up ok and at the point it displays 52 I have the Abit splash
screen on the monitor. If I hit tab during the boot I get the post screen
as follows.

Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Copyright (C) 1984-2003, Phoenix Technologies, LTD

Main Processor : AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3300+
Memory Testing : 524288K OK

Press DEL to enter SETUP
07/29/2004-K8T800P-8237-6A7L1A1BC-16

Pressing DEL doesn't do anything. The processor and ram work in another PC.
I've tried 3 different 512MB ram sticks and all behave the same. They were:
Crucial PC3200 266MHz CL2.5
Kingston PC3200 400MHz CL2.5
PNY PC3200 400MHz CL3

I've cleared the bios by setting the jumper and also tried removing the
battery for a few minutes.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try the memory in a different slot on the motherboard.

Thanks for the suggestion but it behaves exactly the same in the other slot.
I've discovered that support for the Sempron 3300+ wasn't added until a
later bios version than mine. Could this be the problem? Although, it does
put out a message saying what the processor is on the post screen.

Does it post the processor speed correctly, or just the type (Sempron)?
It is very possible that this is the cause of the problem, especially
since you've tried different memory and slots. If you have access to a
processor that is supported in your BIOS, then I would put that in, do
the BIOS flash and try again. Even if the processor is displayed
properly on the screen, I would try to do the flash.

For future reference if anyone searches google, a bios upgrade fixed this
problem. I wasn't able to get a suitable processor so I purchased a new bios
chip flashed with the latest bios from eBay.
