Post subject: Keyboard Fault on HP Vectra VL410?
Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware, others (more info?)

Hi,

I have a HP Vectra VL410 with a strange problem. The keyboard (HP) keeps
dropping off. When you boot its a 50-50 chance as to weather or not it will
work! I have replaced the keyboard twice, still the same error, so I pulled
the hard disk out of the Vectra, and put it into another Vectra (same spec
we have 50 on site), just to make sure it wasn't a dodgy PS/2 port, but it
still gets the same problem. I went into the bios and everything seemed ok,
but I loaded setup defaults just to make sure...same problem!
The only thing left is the windows installation, but I can't imagine there
would be any setting that would stop a keyboard working, I have checked the
hardware, and the regional settings, and all seem ok!

Can anyone help?

Cheers

Ben
