A friend and I have been running this drive for a couple of weeks now. So
far, the drive is working just fine. We have detected that some DVD-R media
will not burn and the speed of 4X is not being reached. There is updated
firmware from LG which is reported to correct the DVD-R media compatibility
issue and speed issue. The link for the firmware download on LG's support
site is
http://us.lgservice.com/jsp/common/download.jsp?DOC_ID=ACSWL000012745&...E_NAME=(EW).zip&FILE_GUBUN=B
or a TinyURL format http://tinyurl.com/s5sn

I rate this drive 8.5 out of 10. Perhaps after the firmware update I will
rate it a 9. The DVD-RAM support is super. I really like being able to
simply copy files to a DVD without using some crappy packet writing
software.

Peace,
CJ

I've got the Iomega SuperDVD and I've been told it's a repackage version
of what you have. So far this drive is fantastic!!!

Sony and all the other players on the market should be ashamed for not
producing a drive this capable and so cheap too.

I've not had any problems whatsoever burning an type of media so far.

Love this drive and would buy again. I believe Tom's hardware rates this
drive highly as well.(Then again one should read Tom's site with caution)
