Somehow I lost framerates when gaming (Nascar 2003).
I was getting around 70-80fps @1024. Using a Ti4400.
One day it went down to 12-15fps for no apparent reason.

I had done all the obvious things, removed and reinstalled
video card/drivers, changed driver versions, checked and double checked
AA settings and turned off AA, I have VSync off. Tried Direct3D and OpenGL.

Called PNY about the Ti4400 and they won't send me one unless I send my
card
in for diagnosis with turn around time of aprox 3 weeks, (uggh).

Could it be the motherboard causing the lose of framerate?

I'm not sure how to go about updating the motherboard drivers, etc.
I've read a couple different places that say "Don't Use ASUS Update"
and others that say "Be Sure to Use ASUS Update" LOL

P4T533 (no fan on chipset)
P4 2.53 w/512 PC133 ram
Win 98se
PNY Ti4400

Any help would be appreciated,
thanks

Pentium processors have thermal throttling. I don't know if it
requires OS support to work, or is totally in hardware. Check
your processor temperature, to see if the heatsink and fan are
still working to cool the processor. You can use MBM5 or Asus
Probe to check the temperature, and you can even have these
programs record the temperature in a text file while you are
doing something else, like gaming.
