I have tried everything. Followed ATI documentation completely (emptied
Windows temp and deleted any registry keys). The latest drivers install
fine and work. When I try to install MMC idriver.exe hangs. This is part
of Install Shield I believe. ATI support just keeps telling me to do the
same things I have already done
AIW 9600 PRO.
Win XP SP2
VIA KT400 MOBO
512MB 333 RAM
Athlon 1800+
Plenty of disk space.
Any advise really appreciated, TIA.

I only got 9.02 to install over the top of an older version, despite what
ATI says.

I have a AIW 9600XT and MMC 9.02 also fails at idriver.exe. ATI tech support
admits to the problem and said that it is happening only on some systems and
that they are working on the problem. Tech support said that there was
little difference bewtween MMC 9.01 and 9.02. I am running with Cat 4.10 and
MMC 9.02 without any problems.

I had exactly the same problem. Install 9.01 first and then 9.02, seems to
be a problem in Windows installer, if you look at Task Manager/Processes
when it is "hanging" you will see that Idriver is eating 100% CPU, Idriver
is windows installer. Hope this helps

The only way I got it to install was to install an older version first then
install 9.02 on top. Although ATI doesn't recommend this, it works fine.
