Archived from groups: alt>comp>hardware (more info?)

I'm trying to install firmware 160D for a 8348 MSI CD burner.
I've download the CR48A_160D.exe file on MSI site.
I'm supposed to make the install in real dos mode on W2K.
I don't know how to get this real dos mode on W2K.

I've tried with 4 boot disks made with makeboot. Nothing else than an
install procedure for W2K. No DOS.

I've tried with start>execute>cmd. Unable to find my CD burner.

The problem is that my burner doesn't want to burn with Nero 6, or with
Drag&drop CD.

Any advice ?

Thanks

David

go to prompt and format floppy "format a: /s". this will make system floppy
disk. reboot with floppy inside and your free to install your firmware.
