Just a warning to anyone thinking about getting an MSI TV Tuner card.

I've just had my card fail again. That's two hardware failures in just over
three months. Not very good, considering that it took almost two months to
RMA the last card back to MSI.

MSI also is not developing updated drivers or software, so you're stuck with
the really crappy TV Tuner, Radio app and drivers.

Save some sanity and go with a Leadtech or other brand of TV tuner.

I heard that their digital tuner is prone to overheat, you might see if it
helps to strategically place a fan or at least least leave the next lower
PCI slot empty and that slot's case bracket cover all to allow more
airflow past the card.

Stay away from ATI if you don't like problems. They're updating their drivers, only problem is that the updated TV software won't
install on allot of machines, mine included. I have to use software that's 2 revisions old and likes to lock up.

Normally I'd agree, but the ATI Wonder PCI card I have is still working
fine. My old 8meg AGP All-in-Wonder is still good to go as well.

As far as TV tuners crashing windows, there is actually a microsoft update
for it, but I don't know what it is offhand.
