Hello,

I reinstalled win2000 professional with sp4 to give
"new life" to my pc.

Now I have a problem with my keyboard:

all the numbers on the right side don't work any
more. The "+", "-", "/", "*" works.
The numbers on the left side work.

When I push on "numlock", the piping noise is not the same
as it was before.

The hardware-manager indicates that the material works
correctly. The following drivers are installed:
i8042prt.sys and kbdclass.sys

I deinstalled and reinstalled the keyboard, but this
change nothing.

I tried the keyboard on annother pc with XP, it worked
correctly, also the numbers on the right side, so
we can know that the keyboard itself is not in trouble.

Now I don't have ideas any more.
Anyone can help?

Thanks a lot - Stephan

tried someone else's Nicrosoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard on the problem child?

tried someone else's PS/2 keyboard of some other make and/or model on the problem child?

tried USB?
tried AT?

tried a scancode watching program of some sort? are we positive no scancodes of any flavor are
being spit out at ya on the problem keys? (scancodes would/should be independent of the numlock
key's state, usually, if i remember... then again, i just woke up two minutes ago...)<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Are you using the Natursal Elite or the Natural Multimedia keyboard?
If you are using the Natural Multimedia,
did you get a cd or floppy with Intellitype5.0 software?
If not obtain it from the Microsoft site.
Both Win2k and XP should see the Microsoft Natural Keyboard PS/2 and
install the driver for it. i8042prt.sys and kbdclass.sys seems to be
the default drivers.
I personally have had no problem with the Microsoft Natural Keyboard
PS/2, My problems started with the Natural Multimedia PS/2 and
Intellitype5.0 software.
