Hello,

I have a new Abit NF7-M Mainboard
with
1gb DDR PC2700 UnBuffered NonECC
Athlon 2100

When the system is turned on
Number Lock and Caps Lock lights come on the keyboard
The system makes one beep and then hangs.
Nothing is displayed on the Monitor.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

John

Hi John -

A few thoughts:

.. Hold down the INS (insert) key when turning on your system. This should
reset the BIOS to default failsafe values and permit you to get into the
setup screens.

.. Failing the above, try removing the main power cable from your PSU, remove
the motherboard battery and move the CCMOS1 jumper (clear CMOS) from pins 1
and 2 to pins 2 and 3. Wait a few moments then reverse the above and try to
boot again.

.. What memory are you using? The NF7 family of boards (actually all nForce
boards) are incredibly fussy about the memory they like. Generic memory is
a crap-shoot at best.

Jef

I have tried clearing the bios (rem. battery & PS) without any luck. I have
also tried another stick of ram same problem arose.

I put a geforce agp card in and the system booted up. With the agp card the
system will post with the ram I have.
I will try the reset switch
Thanks for your input and help.
John
