Going to buy a Nikon 4500.

The salelman said that if I use a large CF like 128M, it may slow down
the picture loading time, so I may have to wait a little longer to
take the next picture.

Is this true? Will a 64M card be better?

Hmm, that's probably correct, but the difference is probably really
negligible. Like a computer's harddrive, the seek time for spare space would
make it slow down, but since we are only talking MB and not GB, it really
wouldn't bother me. Digital cameras aren't really great for taking lots of
shots in quick succession anyway (unless you have a camera with that kind of
functionality in the first place...

Salesmen say a lot that is hard to believe. In this case, he may have been
trying to justify having a small card bundled with the camera. Or he may
make lots more money by selling you two 64 Mb cards.

Caveat emptor.

The larger units will usually be newer technology and probably faster then
the smaller ones.

Not, 'coz it will not fit as many pictures....

Better yet,
get a Sandisk Ultra, Lexar 40x or (my choice) Transcend 45x...

My "30x" Transcend is definitively faster than the cheaper,
generic/less-known-brand card I bought first, I won't make that
mistake again!

And if you check the CF Database over at Rob G's site
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007-6111 you
should see that almost without exceptions the larger capacity CF wins
hands-down - i.e. the "Ultra" Sandisk beats the "standard" 512MB by
100% in write-speed on the 1Ds, if you are really concerned just get
an Ultra or at least a card with 30-40 "X".
