It's new apparently so I'm wondering what people think. I looked at
the Abit A7N8X-E Deluxe but some people complain of BIOS setup
problems. Also looked at the GA 7N400 Pro2 but reviews said the RAID
controller could not be disabled and there were other complaints.

I want: nForce2 Ultra400 chipset, dual channel memory, up to 400FSB,
up to 3GB RAM, up to XP 3200+ CPU, IEEE, SATA, USB.

The audio and any on-board graphics are not important as I don't game,
though I don't want an audio setup that's going to cause me headaches
either. I may do some recording and a midi input is a plus.

TIA

How about the non-E A7N8X Deluixe?

I have the non-E version of the A7N8X Deluxe (rev 2) from Feb2003 - and
unless you get the right memory and BIOS, trying to use more then 1
memory stick in it is asking for trouble. Apparently the A7N8X memory
controllers are extremely picky about which memory works. I'm using (2)
512Mb GeIL PC2700 sticks with moderate success (but not 100% stable,
even without overclocking). If I could find a set of memory chips for
an AthlonXP 2600+ that would work properly, I'd be quite happy with the
motherboard.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

The manual for the A7N8X Deluxe is confusing. The A7N8X-E Deluxe is a
little clearer. Both do not allow a single DIMM configuration. You must
have either 2 or 3.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
