At least my copy doesn't appear to. The Intel RAID configuration
manager only offers Raid 1, Raid 0, and Recovery as options. I put in
an Intel RAID 5 array I already had and it showed it as incompatible
(but it recognized that the disks were in an array). I've found
evidence of a reduced features firmware (for use in laptops or
something without very many disks) that only supports Raid 1, 0, and
Recovery. It looks to me like they loaded the wrong firmware on this
board. Of course MSI can't suggest anything other than that I exchange
the board (for one that will probably have the same problem) or buy
someone else's board. Very annoying as everything else about this
board is fine, but I hate to be ripped off on a $170 board that
doesn't support the RAID modes it says it does. Anyone else have this
problem?

Check the BIOS you are using.

This download page has three BIOS files, and the middle one says:

http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=bios&mainc...no=1&pr

"Update SATA Raid firmware version"

Perhaps some flash upgrading experiments with the different available BIOS
versions will give you a bootable RAID5.
