Fogar, what information were you given in the Canopus forums ?
The question is whether the RT card and another chip can share
an IRQ. The LAN chip isn't going to care - it should work - but
if the RT card has some real time interrupt latency requirements,
there could be a problem.
Why not just try it ? Enable the LAN chip, boot into WinXP, and
do some editing (rendering). Then, simultaneously, start a file
transfer over the LAN interface. See whether the RT works properly
while the LAN is operating.
Even if there is a problem, you might restrict your use of the
LAN until you are finished editing. Then, there will be less of
a chance of a problem between the two hardware devices.
When you enable the LAN in the BIOS, you'll need to install a
LAN driver. Check your install CD or go to the Asus download
to get files for the 3C940.
